ALGORHYTHMIC – STRUCTURE
MARCO REICHERT AND CARSTEN GOERING

Marco Reichert and Carsten Goering. Each forging distinctive paths within the field of painting today.

Reichert, based in Berlin, merges traditional painterly gestures with generative processes driven by machine-like tools he constructs himself.

His multilayered canvases blur coded, algorithmic marks with organic forms that evoke both natural structures and digital glitches, questioning the boundaries between human agency and technological systems in image making.

In contrast, Leipzig-based Carsten Goering explores the dynamism of color and form through textured surfaces. His work employs applications of oil and acrylic that are drawn into rhythmic, lenticular-like patterns, producing a sense of motion and visual interplay that shifts with the viewer’s gaze.

Goering’s paintings propose tactile engagement with abstraction, where line and surface evolve into shimmering fields of chromatic energy.

Together, the exhibition highlights two distinct approaches to abstraction one rooted in human cleverness, coding algorithmic unpredictability and the other in the material poetics of color and surface offering audiences a chance to reflect on how contemporary painting negotiates control, chance, and perception in the digital driven age.

EXHIBITION AT HOUSE OF FINN JUHL

12.01-16.02.2026

We are pleased to present an exhibition that brings together two compelling artists working in the field of contemporary abstraction:

Marco Reichert and Carsten Goering. Each forging distinctive paths within the field of painting today. Reichert, based in Berlin, merges traditional painterly gestures with generative processes driven by machine-like tools he constructs himself.

His multilayered canvases blur coded, algorithmic marks with organic forms that evoke both natural structures and digital glitches, questioning the boundaries between human agency and technological systems in image making.
